Project 1 - Scribble Drawing

This is my sketch that we did on Monday during the Funday Munday activity.  I really liked how I erased the lines to create a new unusual shape that moves around the drawing.

This 2nd version shows how I tried a different medium - watercolor.  This time I couldn't erase the lines, which I didn't like.  I think the next step is to cut out these shapes, and trace them onto a different type of paper.  Then I will create a separate background, and attach the shapes onto the background.  I really want to use acrylic paint on the finsihed artwork.

Here I traced the back side of the drawing so that I can transfer the shape to a different surface.

This is the back side of the watercolor, ready to be traced to another surface.

Then I found this old canvas that had glue on it.  I decided to scribble with glue.

Here I put another layer of glue to create another layer of these unusual 'scribble shapes.'  But as the glue dried you couldn't really feel or see where I put the second layer of glue.  So, I lightly lined the edges with yellow color pencil.  Once this is dry, I will start in with acrylic paint.  After I get a layer of acrylic paint down, then I think I will transfer at least one of the other scribble shapes.

9/20 Today I added red acrylic to my canvas, and decided that I need something the appear inside the irregular shapes.  I decided I wanted to try a simple figure (see sketch above).  I will paint it with colors that are not realistic, but it will be shaded in a realistic style.
